Head of Islamic Studies Department (English) Holds Meeting with Faculty Members
Dr. Manal Mustafa, Head of the Islamic Studies Department (English) at the College of Islamic Studies at Minnesota University, held a meeting with members of the department's mini-council and faculty members on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Manal began the meeting by thanking the university administration, represented by Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, President of the main center, and the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies, Dr. Abdulrazzaq Al-Bakri. She then welcomed the members of the mini-council and faculty members, especially the new professors who recently joined the Islamic Studies Department.
The Head of the Department congratulated all attendees on the beginning of the new academic year and urged them to work hard and ensure the smooth running of the educational process by maintaining the schedules for delivering lectures without the need for postponement, noting the tight schedule of lectures and the difficulty of obtaining dates for compensatory lectures.
Dr. Manal drew the attention of the professors to the need to coordinate lectures in the form of files and PowerPoint presentations to facilitate for students and to present the scientific material with excellence. She also reminded them not to deviate from the approved curricula and asked them to urge students to carry out the required activities and assignments. She also asked them not to allow students to raise disagreements that are outside the moderation followed in the university's educational policy, and to guide them to prepare for exams. At this point, she called on the professors to prepare the exams on time and not to violate the agreed-upon dates.
Manal Mustafa stressed the need to adhere to the tasks assigned to each professor and not to withdraw at critical times, and to confirm the dates and times chosen by each professor for the lectures, which is a full hour without any increase. The Head of the Department also invited the professors to participate in the activities of the newly established Da'wah Center by contributing to training courses or educational seminars, which will be of moral and material benefit to the participating professors and students alike.
The Head of the Department praised the role of the mini-council, referring to its organizational structure and the tasks assigned to Dr. Samir Fredi and Dr. Ibrahim Salem regarding supporting the department and addressing any obstacles that members may face.
Dr. Manal concluded the meeting with a prayer and thanks (in advance) for the efforts that will be made by the faculty members in the Islamic Studies Department (English) to ensure the smooth running and quality of the educational process in the department and the college.
