Ceremony to Honor Winners of "University Narrator" Competition

Jordanian Member of Parliament, Dr. Mousa Al-Wahsh, delivered a speech at a special ceremony organized by the College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota to honor the winners of the major competition for the Prophetic Sunnah, "University Narrator," on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Dr. Al-Wahsh praised the university, describing it as "a beacon of knowledge in Minnesota and the world," emphasizing its role as a source of noble Islamic values.

In his address, Dr. Al-Wahsh congratulated the winners of the competition, noting that they are a source of pride for the university and the future of the Islamic nation. He also thanked Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, the university Vice President, and Dr. Abdulrazzaq Al-Bakri, Dean of the College of Islamic Studies, for their support and development of the university, and commended Dr. Fatima Jumaa Al-Wahsh for her success in organizing scientific events.

During the ceremony, Professor Dr. Shahab Al-Din Abu Zuhra, a faculty member at Al-Azhar University, delivered an eloquent speech thanking all those involved in the university. He focused on the importance of the Prophetic Sunnah and the virtue of its scholars, emphasizing the necessity of understanding the Sunnah through the science of jurisprudence.

The event opened with a speech by Dr. Fatima Jumaa Al-Wahsh, the general coordinator of the competition and head of the Arabic Islamic Studies Department, who welcomed the guests and expressed her pride in honoring the winners, highlighting the significance of the Prophetic Sunnah.

After a recitation of the Quran by Sheikh Izzat Sabri, Dr. Zainab Basyouni, the deputy registrar, gave a brief speech on behalf of the university, expressing gratitude to the participating students and the organizers.

Dr. Abdul Razak Al-Bakri then spoke, emphasizing the importance of the competition in promoting interest in the Quran and Sunnah, and underscored the need to enhance the study of these subjects in contemporary times.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Abdul Razak Al-Bakri announced the results and prizes of the competition, accompanied by a video presentation illustrating the competition's goals and stages.
