Meeting of Department of Islamic Studies in English
November 16, 2024 – Dr. Manal Mustafa, Head of the Department of Islamic Studies in English, emphasized the department's commitment to fair criteria for selecting supervisors for academic theses during a meeting with faculty members. She highlighted the importance of allowing everyone to participate in supervision, stressing the need to consider criteria such as specialties and thesis topics to ensure equal opportunities for all faculty members.
The meeting, held on Saturday at 4 PM Mecca time, began with Dr. Manal welcoming the attendees, especially the new faculty members, and expressing gratitude for their ongoing support in achieving departmental excellence. She presented a series of important instructions for the second academic semester, including the need to adhere to attendance and lecture schedules and to facilitate courses through the use of presentation slides.
The department head explained that evaluations of faculty performance would be conducted and encouraged them to keep up with educational groups and participate in external activities such as scientific conferences and articles in the college journal. She also urged them to be attentive to students' well-being and inquire about the reasons for any absences, while emphasizing the importance of adhering to lecture times and delivering the instructional material in a concise and objective manner.
At the conclusion of the meeting, which lasted for one hour and forty minutes, faculty members were given the opportunity to ask questions, and Dr. Manal responded to all inquiries before thanking everyone for their attendance and participation.
Attendees included Dr. Ahmed Issa Al-Khalidi, Dr. Naeem Mohiyddin, Dr. Najima Al-Ridwani, Dr. Mohammed Al-Khalidi, and Ms. Anisa Ahmed Othman Al-Zakri, the administrative affairs officer of the college.
