Meeting to Evaluate Educational Process

On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, a meeting was held chaired by Dr. Imad al-Din al-Ajili, Head of the Department of Creed and Contemporary Sects at the College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota, at 9:00 PM Mecca time.

The meeting began with greetings to all attendees, with a special welcome extended to Dr. Huda Darwish. Dr. al-Ajili focused on monitoring the educational process for the second semester and presented a series of instructions related to the midterm examinations.

Dr. al-Ajili emphasized the importance of preparing the exams promptly, stressing that there should be two exam formats, with a deadline for submission set for December 18. He also addressed the topic of academic research, highlighting the importance of fairness in supervision and discussions.

Regarding the curricula, al-Ajili confirmed the presence of representatives from the Department of Creed in the Curriculum Unit and warned against instructors deviating from the approved syllabi. He called for continuous monitoring of student assignments, stressing that there should be no additional burdens on students.

He also pointed out the importance of diversity in lecture delivery, encouraging instructors to share roles and provide students with opportunities to explain certain points. The floor was opened for discussion among attendees before concluding the meeting at 9:30 PM.

The meeting was attended by several faculty members, including Dr. Bashir Asair, Dr. Elias Al-Hani, Ms. Anwar Omar Al-Jarf, Dr. Amir Al-Mashharawi, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ghandour, and Ms. Anisa Ahmed Al-Zakri, the administrative affairs officer for the college.
