Department of Islamic Studies Holds Official Meeting

On Wednesday, May 17, 2025, at 5:00 PM Mecca time, the Department of Islamic Studies in English at the Minnesota Islamic University held a meeting attended by faculty members to discuss academic and administrative files related to the end of the summer term and preparations for the upcoming semester.
The meeting began with expressions of gratitude to Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, the university president, for his continuous support, and to Dr. Abdulrazzaq Al-Bakri, the dean of the college, for his diligent follow-up. New faculty members were welcomed, with wishes for their success.
The meeting also included special thanks to faculty members participating in teaching summer courses, and recognition of Professor Anisa Ahmed Al-Zakri for her efforts in following up on academic requirements.
Several topics were discussed, including preparations for the upcoming semester, emphasizing the need to receive course materials on time and rejecting late excuses. The focus was also on preparing educational materials and organizing lectures.
The most significant topic was the announcement of the "University Book" project, aimed at developing accredited academic curricula that align with academic changes and support the discipline. A committee was formed to draft the first semester's courses, and faculty members were invited to participate in this project, which is expected to take between one to one and a half years to implement. Symbolic financial rewards were also set for participants.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of cooperation and positive interaction among all faculty members, along with appreciation for their responsiveness and commitment to enhancing the educational process.
