Head of Department of Creed Encourages Faculty Members to Develop Course Materials

Professor Imad El-Din Abdu Al-Ajili, Head of the Department of Creed and Contemporary Sects at the Islamic University of Minnesota, urged faculty members to prepare professional course materials for submission to the university's curriculum committee. He indicated that there would be a nominal compensation for those who accomplish this task and highlighted the efforts of Dr. Mahmoud Mansour in preparing the logic course, as well as Dr. Ameer, who completed the Islamic sects course with a comprehensive design that includes the university's modern header. The department head and faculty members agreed to submit all curricula to the department's secretary, Mr. Sameer, in preparation for formal submission.
This came during the department's regular meeting chaired by Professor Al-Ajili and attended by faculty members on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10:30 PM Mecca time. The head of the department opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, expressing his gratitude to the faculty members for their commitment and efforts during the semester, praising the positive atmosphere of teamwork and constructive collaboration within the department, and emphasizing that appreciation extends to all professors without exception.
During the meeting, Professor Al-Ajili stressed the importance of diversifying teaching methods through brainstorming sessions, PowerPoint presentations, and enhancing direct interaction with students in classrooms. He emphasized the importance of discipline, urging faculty to avoid absences unless absolutely necessary, and the need to promptly compensate for any missed lessons.
The professor and faculty members also discussed the progress of the educational process during the first semester, noting that lectures were conducted regularly with only one absence that was compensated later. Regarding assignments and tests, the meeting stressed the need to submit assignments on time to avoid any negative impact on students. It was also mentioned that a unified digital file would be allocated on "Drive" to organize midterm exams. The self-directed doctoral program was discussed, which relies on assignments and final exams without direct lectures, with an overview of the course schedule supervised by several faculty members presented.
The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude and appreciation to the university administration, represented by the Vice President and Head of the Main Center, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, and his deputy, Dr. Zainab, as well as the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Abdulrazeq Al-Bakri, for their continued support of the Department of Creed. A special greeting was also extended to Ms. Anisa Al-Zakri, the College Director, for her diligence and close follow-up on the academic and administrative workflow.
