Da'wah Department Discusses Curriculum Development

MINNESOTA, USA - November 25, 2025 -The Department of Da'wah (Islamic Call) and Islamic Culture at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, The Islamic University of Minnesota (Main Center), held a significant academic meeting on the evening of Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Taha Hussein Al-Johary and attended by the department's faculty members.

The meeting focused on two primary areas: reviewing the progress of preparing a unified university textbook for the department and exploring ways to develop the undergraduate curriculum in alignment with the department's identity and mission.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Al-Johary praised the outstanding academic commitment of the faculty members, noting that the department "achieves remarkable distinction in its discipline," which reflects the dedication of its teaching staff.

Dr. Al-Johary called for the necessity of building a specialized curriculum for the bachelor's degree program and establishing courses that reflect the identity of the Da'wah department, characterized by scientific methodology and inclusivity, free from bias. He emphasized that "a Da'i (caller to Islam) must invite everyone to Allah with knowledge and a broad culture that enables them to address diverse segments of society."

The "University Textbook" project received significant attention. Dr. Al-Johary announced that its drafts had been sent to the faculty's deanship for approval, stressing the importance of producing "concise and purposeful" books that serve students and facilitate their educational attainment.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on continuing to work with a team spirit to enhance the quality of educational outcomes and to develop curricula that meet the aspirations of the students. Dr. Al-Johary praised the students' appreciation for their professors, which places a responsibility on the department to maintain this high standard.
