Council of College of Islamic Studies Discusses Educational Process
The Council of the College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota held a meeting on Sunday, January 18, chaired by the Dean of the College, Dr. Abdulrazeq Al-Bakri, to follow up on the educational process.
The official report revealed that the attendance rate for lectures reached 99%. The Dean stressed the necessity for faculty members to commit to specifying a clear date for make-up lectures in case of absence, due to its impact on the stability of the educational process and students' rights.
The Council emphasized the pivotal role of department heads in monitoring lectures and communicating in advance with faculty members, with no excuses accepted without specifying a make-up date. It also prohibited holding make-up lectures near the end of the semester or before exams.
Regarding exams, the Dean stressed the need to prepare them early for accurate review, especially given the college's reliance on electronic correction, which requires strict adherence to schedules.
The Council discussed the impact of excessive make-up lectures on college reports, emphasizing that additional courses should not be assigned to those who prove to be uncommitted.
The session concluded with thanks to the department heads for their efforts and an emphasis on the importance of teamwork to enhance the quality of the educational process.
