The Department of Creed and Contemporary Sects at the College of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Minnesota (Main Center), held an extensive academic meeting on Sunday evening, with the participation of college leadership and faculty members, as part of efforts to enhance the quality of the educational process and elevate academic performance.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies, Prof. Dr. Majed bin Obaid Al-Sulami, and the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Imad Al-Din Abdo Al-Ajili, along with a number of faculty members.
The Head of the Department opened the meeting with a welcoming speech to the Dean, expressing the department's pride in his leadership and congratulating him on his appointment, while affirming that the current stage represents an opportunity to strengthen the academic development process and support educational programs in the department.
For his part, the Dean of the College praised the efforts of the department and its faculty members, commending the pivotal role of the Creed specialization in establishing sound concepts and promoting the values of moderation and balance. He also affirmed the Deanship's commitment to supporting academic departments and providing development requirements in line with quality standards and institutional excellence.
The participants discussed a number of academic and organizational issues aimed at improving educational quality. Emphasis was placed on adhering to the regularity of the educational process according to approved schedules, ensuring timely submission of assignments and examinations while maintaining balance in student assessment, as well as stressing the importance of adopting a moderate academic approach within classrooms and avoiding politicization or sectarian bias. The discussion also touched on following up on the completion of the department's curricula through the Curriculum Committee, accelerating the completion of academic reports, and developing educational performance through model lectures and well-prepared presentations.
The meeting witnessed active interventions from faculty members, who expressed their welcome to the Dean and affirmed their commitment to working as one team, while putting forward several developmental proposals aimed at improving the quality of educational outcomes and enhancing the academic work environment within the department.
In conclusion, the Head of the Department affirmed that cooperation and integration among faculty members constitute a fundamental pillar for achieving academic success, while the Dean renewed his full support for the department, appreciating the efforts made and calling for continued work with a sense of responsibility to achieve further excellence.
