Two Scientific Lectures on Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers

Under the supervision of Dr. Ali El-Shboul, the Language and Translation Center at the College of Arts and Humanities at the Islamic University of Minnesota held two scientific lectures on teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

The first lecture, titled "Strategies for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers," was delivered by Dr. Nadia Abu Awda, a part-time lecturer at the Language Center at the Jordan University. It was moderated by Dr. Nour Saad, Deputy Director of the Language Center. The lecture took place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 9:00 PM Mecca time, and targeted those interested in teaching Arabic, highlighting practical experiences and modern methods in the field.

The second lecture, titled "Arabic Language Tests for Non-Native Speakers: Theoretical and Practical Frameworks," was presented by Dr. Hussein Obaidat, a leading specialist in this field from Yarmouk University in Jordan, and also moderated by Dr. Nour Saad. This lecture was held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 10:00 PM Mecca time. It covered modern and practical methods for assessing non-native Arabic students, the latest strategies in test design, the challenges faced by educators and examiners, and concluded with innovative solutions to enhance the quality and efficiency of assessment.
