Faisal Lamhan Earns PhD in Fiqh and Its Principles
Researcher Faisal Ahmad Hussein Lamhan has earned his PhD from the Department of Fiqh and Its Principles at the Islamic University of Minnesota, following a public defense session held on Monday, November 11, 2024. During this session, his dissertation titled "Al-Menah Al-Shafiyat fi Mufradat Mathhab Al-Imam Ahmed by Imam Mansour Al-Bahuti (1000 AH - 1051 AH) - A Study and Verification from the Issue of Women’s Leadership to the Issue of Fasting While Traveling" was discussed.
The discussion committee comprised distinguished academics, with Dr. Salah Farraj, Head of the Department of Fiqh and Its Principles at the Islamic University of Minnesota, serving as the chair. Dr. Hamad Al-Mazrouei, Professor of Fiqh at Kuwait University, participated as the supervisor and rapporteur. Dr. Imad Qadri Al-Iyadi, Head of the Manuscripts Department at the university, served as an internal examiner, while Dr. Ahmed Ma'abed Issa, a faculty member at the university, acted as an external examiner.
This dissertation represents a valuable contribution to the field of Islamic jurisprudence, shedding light on the opinions and principles of Imam Ahmad's school of thought and addressing contemporary legal issues.
