Researcher Eman Fouad Obtains PhD in Jurisprudence

Minnesota, April 16, 2025 – Syrian researcher Eman Fouad Al-Subai earned her PhD in jurisprudence after successfully defending her dissertation titled (The Jurisprudential Issues Stated as Having No Distinction According to the Shafi'i School in the Matter of Prayer – A Comparative Jurisprudential Study).
The defense took place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 9 PM Mecca time, under the supervision of the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the main campus of the Islamic University of Minnesota, in the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles within the College of Sharia and Law.
The defense committee comprised Prof. Dr. Salah Ahmed Farraj, head of the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles, serving as the supervisor and chair of the committee; Dr. Maher Alwan, faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota, as the internal examiner; and Dr. Ali Shafiq Ouda, faculty member at the university, as the external examiner.
