Researcher Mustafa Olyan Earns PhD in Jurisprudence

Researcher Mustafa Hamdo Olyan has obtained a PhD from the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Foundations at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, following a public defense of his thesis titled "The Principles and Jurisprudential Rules Disputed Between the Shafi'is and Hanbalis." The defense session took place on Wednesday, 18 Shawwal 1446 AH, corresponding to April 16, 2025, at 7 PM Mecca time, under the supervision of the Graduate Studies and Research Administration at the main campus of the Islamic University of Minnesota.

The defense committee consisted of Professor Waleed Idris Al-Meneesi, President of the Islamic University of Minnesota, serving as supervisor and rapporteur; Dr. Muzahem Tariq Al-Mustafa, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, who served as a discussant; and Dr. Ahmed Maabed Eisa, a faculty member at the university, also serving as a discussant.

This achievement reflects the academic and research progress in the fields of jurisprudence and its foundations.
