Researcher Ibrahim Sombari Obtains PhD in Jurisprudence

Researcher Ibrahim Sombari from Burkina Faso has earned a PhD from the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles at the College of Sharia and Law, following a public defense session of his thesis entitled "The Application of Presumption in the Maliki School Regarding Acts of Worship - A Comparative Jurisprudential Study."

The defense session took place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 9:00 PM Mecca time, under the supervision of the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the main campus of the Islamic University of Minnesota.

The discussion committee comprised Dr. Salah Faraj, Head of the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles at the Islamic University of Minnesota, as the chair; Dr. Faisal Jaber Al-Shammari, faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota, as the supervisor; Dr. Ammar Abdullah, faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota, as the internal examiner; and Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Mohammed, faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota, as the external examiner.
