College of Sharia and Law Discusses PhD Research Proposal on “Alternative Penalties”

The College of Sharia and Law at the Islamic University of Minnesota – Main Center – held an academic seminar on Sunday, September 21, 2025, to discuss the PhD research proposal presented by researcher Manal Al-Dhmour, entitled: “The Legislative Regulation of Alternative Penalties: An Analytical Study of the Jordanian Penal Code.”

The session was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Shoaib Abdulmaqsoud, Head of the Department of Law, with the participation of Dr. Ehab Talaat and Dr. Heba Ramadan as committee members. The committee offered their academic insights and recommendations aimed at enhancing the quality and depth of the proposed study.

This session comes as part of the Graduate Studies Deanship’s commitment to supporting postgraduate students, encouraging high-quality academic research, and strengthening the university’s role in enriching legal scholarship and addressing contemporary legislative issues.
