Deanship of Graduate Studies Holds Academic Seminar

The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota – Main Center held an academic seminar on Thursday, November 27, 2025, via Zoom to discuss the research proposal submitted by doctoral student Arwa Al-Balawi from the College of Media - Department of Media and Public Relations. The session took place at 8:00 p.m. Makkah time.

The seminar focused on the researcher’s proposal titled: “The Role of Strategic Communication in Enhancing Job Performance among Employees of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.” The session explored the theoretical framework, research methodology, and analytical tools, within a context that contributes to developing administrative and communication practices in public institutions.

The discussion was chaired by Professor Dr. Hanan Sobhi Obaid, Head of Graduate Studies at the College of Media, while academic supervision of the researcher was undertaken by Assistant Professor Dr. Yusra Sobaih. Committee members included Professor Dr. Ayman Mohammed Abdulqader Al-Shaikh and Assistant Professor Dr. Jihad Mustafa, who offered methodological insights that strengthened and refined the research direction.

The seminar featured a rich academic discussion reflecting the researcher’s advanced awareness of contemporary research approaches, as well as the college’s and Deanship’s commitment to fostering rigorous scholarship and addressing emerging issues in institutional communication and strategic media.

This seminar is part of an integrated academic program adopted by the Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota to support postgraduate students, strengthen the research ecosystem, and enhance the quality of the university’s scholarly output.
