Deanship of Graduate Studies Holds Academic Seminar to Discuss Research Proposal on Prophetic Judiciary

The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the College of Sharia and Law, Islamic University of Minnesota – Main Center, represented by the Department of Judiciary and Sharia Policy, organized an academic seminar to discuss the research proposal submitted by Mohammed Al-Jilali Mohammed Al-Dadasi, titled “The Prophetic Judiciary Through the Sunna Compilations - Collection and Study,” as part of the requirements for his doctoral studies.

The seminar was held on Thursday, January 1, 2026, via Zoom, with the discussion committee chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Shaqaldi, Head of the Department of Judiciary and Sharia Policy, and including Dr. Faisal Al-Shammari, Dr. Khalil Al-Taher, and Dr. Fatima Amoudi as committee members.

The session featured an in-depth academic discussion of the research proposal’s key themes and methodological dimensions, particularly the study of the Prophetic judiciary through the Sunna compilations, highlighting its significance in presenting the legal foundations and judicial values established by the Prophet Muhammad and their impact on Islamic judicial jurisprudence.

During the seminar, the committee provided scholarly feedback and methodological guidance aimed at refining the research proposal and enhancing its academic value.

This seminar is part of a series of scientific seminars organized by the Deanship of Graduate Studies at the College of Sharia and Law to support scientific research and foster a serious academic environment that prepares specialized researchers capable of advancing knowledge in Islamic and legal studies.
