Graduate Studies Deanship Hosts Seminar on Seerah-Based Educational Model

The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Main Center of the Islamic University of Minnesota, in collaboration with the College of Islamic Studies and the Department of Islamic Studies in English, organized a scientific seminar to discuss the research proposal titled “Seerah-Based Educational Model for Holistic Human Development” on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. (Makkah time), via Zoom.

The PhD researcher, Yousef Mohammed, presented his research proposal, which aims to develop a comprehensive educational model inspired by the Seerah (Prophetic biography), focusing on holistic human development across spiritual, ethical, intellectual, and behavioral dimensions, while linking the values derived from the Seerah to contemporary educational needs in diverse learning environments.

The proposal was reviewed by a specialized academic committee chaired by Dr. Manal Mostafa, Head of the Department of Islamic Studies in English, with members Dr. Sameer Fareedi, Dr. Idris Itoro Abdulkarim, and Dr. Shatha Abdulrahim Khalifa. The committee provided precise scientific feedback and methodological guidance, enriching the proposal and strengthening its academic structure.

The discussions emphasized the importance of employing the Seerah as a flexible and applicable educational framework in contemporary contexts, highlighting the value of research in developing educational models that contribute to shaping balanced individuals capable of positively engaging with their communities.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the committee praised the significance and academic value of the topic, commending the researcher for his awareness of research methodology and objectives, and reaffirmed the Deanship of Graduate Studies’ commitment to supporting high-quality research that addresses educational and developmental issues from an authentic Islamic perspective with a contemporary vision.
