Department of Quran Discusses PhD Research Proposal on Grammatical Deduction in Ibn Ashour's Exegesis
The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, represented by the Faculty of Islamic Studies and the Department of Quran and Its Sciences, organized a academic seminar to discuss the research proposal submitted by researcher Furqan Biljan, as part of the requirements for the doctoral degree.
The research proposal was titled: "Grammatical Deduction in Ibn Ashour's Exegesis – A Critical Analytical Study in the Book 'Al-Tahrir wa Al-Tanwir'". The session addressed the study's main themes, objectives, methodology, and its scholarly significance in the field of Quranic and linguistic studies.
The discussion committee was chaired by Dr. Islam Al-Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Department of Quran and Its Sciences, with membership of Dr. Abdulrahman Hayjan, Dr. Hamoud Fahd Al-Ajmi, Dr. Reem Tawfiq, and Dr. Mahmoud Shaaban. The committee members provided their scholarly observations and methodological guidance aimed at developing the research proposal and enhancing its academic level.
The session was held on Wednesday evening, January 21, 2026, via video conferencing technology (Zoom), in a scholarly atmosphere characterized by rigorous dialogue and constructive discussion, reflecting the Deanship of Graduate Studies' commitment to enhancing the quality of scientific research and supporting graduate students in their academic journey.
