Scientific Session to Discuss Doctoral Research Proposal on Developing Geographical Skills
 
The Deanery of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University in Minnesota, USA, held a scientific seminar session on Tuesday evening, April 7, 2026, via the Zoom platform. The session was dedicated to discussing the research proposal submitted by researcher Khazna Mohammed Ibrahim, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Educational Sciences – Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods, titled: "A Program Based on Basic Science Processes for Developing Geographical Skills and Mental Habits among Middle School Students."
The session was chaired by Dr. Talat Mohammed Al-Dardir, Head of the Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods, with the membership of Dr. Mohammed Shoukri Abdulrahman, Dr. Al-Majed Kamal, and Dr. Sharbat Mahmoud. It took place at 9:00 PM Mecca time.
The researcher presented a systematic overview of her study plan, which aims to design an educational program based on basic science processes to develop geographical skills and enhance mental habits among middle school students, thereby supporting the development of scientific thinking and effective learning skills.
The discussion committee conducted an in-depth scientific analysis of the theoretical framework, methodology, and proposed tools. They also discussed ways to improve the proposed program in line with contemporary educational research standards. The session concluded with constructive scientific observations and recommendations aimed at enriching and supporting the research trajectory.
