Discussion of Two Doctoral Research Proposals at Scientific Seminar
 
The Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, represented by the Deanship of Graduate Studies in cooperation with the College of Educational Sciences and the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, organized a scientific seminar on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, to discuss two doctoral research proposals, as part of its ongoing efforts to support scientific research and enhance the quality of graduate studies programs.
The session featured a discussion of the first research proposal entitled “The Impact of the Competitive Learning Strategy on Developing Reading and Speaking Skills among Fourth-Grade Students in Syria,” presented by researcher Jumana Mohammed Qarmid. It also included the presentation and discussion of the second proposal titled “A Proposed Framework for Developing the Sustainable Development Curriculum for Third-Year Female Students in the Track System in Saudi Arabia in Light of the Salters Educational Model,” presented by researcher Fawzia Omair Mohammed Al-Shahrani.
The proposals were reviewed by a specialized academic committee chaired by Dr. Talaat Mohammed Al-Dardir, Head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, with the membership of Dr. Mahrous Sulaiman and Dr. Ahmed Sayed. The committee provided a number of scholarly observations and methodological guidance aimed at enhancing the quality and direction of both research projects.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the Deanship of Graduate Studies expressed its appreciation to the review committee for their academic efforts and to the two researchers for their serious scholarly work, wishing them success in completing the requirements for the doctoral degree.
