Researcher Hanna Awda Earns Master's Degree in Jurisprudence

On Thursday, May 16, 2024, researcher Hanna Abdu Ahmed Awda earned her Master's degree in Jurisprudence from the Islamic University of Minnesota, after successfully completing the requirements and defending her thesis.

The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota, College of Sharia and Law - Department of Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals, held a public session to discuss Hanna Awda's thesis, titled "Satirical Programs: A Jurisprudential and Purposive Study." The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Salah Ahmed Faraj, the Head of the Department of Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals.

The discussion committee included Dr. Abeer Ata Zahra, the supervisor of the thesis, Dr. Mohamed Al-Shaqaldi, a faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota who served as an internal examiner, and Dr. Jihan Al-Taher Mohammed, an Associate Professor of Jurisprudence at the Northern Border University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who acted as an external examiner.

At the end of the discussion, researcher Hanna Awda was awarded the Master's degree in Jurisprudence with high distinction from the discussion committee.
