Researcher Ali Atwa Obtains PhD in Islamic Studies
Mr. Ali Mohammad Atwa has successfully obtained his PhD degree in Islamic Studies from the Department of Creed and Contemporary Doctrines at the College of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Minnesota, Main Center.
His dissertation titled "Belief in Destiny and its Impact on Reforming Society and Refuting the Doubts of the Deniers - An Analytical and Critical Study," was publicly discussed and defended on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 10:00 PM Makkah time.
The discussion committee consisted of:
- Dr. Al-Bashir Asa'ir, supervisor of the dissertation and faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota.
- Dr. Abdulrahman Abu al-Majd, internal examiner and faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota.
- Prof. Dr. Imad Abdo Al-Ajili, external examiner and Head of the Department of Creed and Philosophy, Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion, Al-Minufiya, Al-Azhar University.
Mr. Atwa's research focused on the concept of destiny in Islam and its impact on reforming society. He also addressed and refuted the doubts raised by those who deny the concept of destiny.
