Research and Studies Center Hosts Scientific Seminar
The Research and Studies Center at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center organized, on Wednesday evening, March 4, 2026, a specialized scientific seminar titled “The Best Forms of Dhikr and Istighfar from the Sunnah and Their Impact on the Human Mind”. The seminar was attended by a distinguished group of academics and professionals, as well as students from inside and outside the university, via the Zoom platform.
The seminar was presented by Dr. Shaimaa Al-Arabi, who focused on several scholarly and religious themes, including the virtues of the month of Ramadan, the role of dhikr in purifying the soul, and enhancing spiritual awareness. She also reviewed the best forms of dhikr mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah, highlighting their positive effects on psychological and mental balance.
The seminar also addressed the virtue of sending blessings upon the Prophet PBUH according to Islamic texts, presenting practical examples of how to do so, and explaining their purposes and impact on refining human behavior and reinforcing ethical values. Additionally, examples from the Qur’an and Sunnah were provided to illustrate the most effective forms of dhikr, raising participants’ awareness of its importance in a Muslim’s life.
The session was moderated by Dr. Sura Al-Muhadin, who facilitated the discussion and enriched the dialogue, enhancing the scientific benefit for all participants.
The seminar targeted students and interested individuals from both inside and outside the university, reflecting the Center’s efforts to promote Islamic knowledge, raise intellectual awareness, and connect Islamic sciences with contemporary psychological and behavioral aspects.
