Moayed Zeidan Appointed Chair of Law Department
Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, President of the Islamic University of Minnesota, has officially appointed Dr. Moayed Zeidan as the new Chair of the Law Department at the College of Sharia and Law, succeeding Dr. Mohammed Shuaib Abdulmaqsood.
Dr. Zeidan is a Syrian national with a PhD in Law from Cairo University. He has extensive experience in legal practice and education, serving at the Department of Private Law at Damascus University since 2010 and joining the Islamic University of Minnesota in 2022. He is proficient in English and possesses strong computer skills, and is also a member of the Legislative Drafting Committee for the Law on Professional Syndicates in Syria.
In a congratulatory message, Dean Dr. Muzahem Tariq Mustafa expressed gratitude for Dr. Shuaib's contributions and extended best wishes to Dr. Zeidan for his success in the new role. Dr. Ihab Talaat also recognized Dr. Shuaib’s outstanding leadership and congratulated Dr. Zeidan, emphasizing the university's confidence in him.
In response, Dr. Zeidan thanked his colleagues and emphasized the importance of teamwork to enhance the university’s offerings and serve its students. He acknowledged Dr. Shuaib's efforts and expressed hope for collaboration in achieving the university's goals.
