Minnesota, Main Center – The scientific committee, chaired by Dr. Salah Farraj, Head of the Islamic Jurisprudence Department at the Islamic University of Minnesota, has approved the research plan prepared by graduate student Mohammed Abdulkareem Askar, as part of his efforts to obtain a Ph.D. from the College of Sharia and Law.
The plan aims to study the jurisprudential principles and regulations and their applications to contemporary marriage forms. It was discussed during a seminar session held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 9 PM Mecca time, under the supervision of the Graduate Studies Deanship at the university.
The discussion committee included, in addition to its chair, Dr. Salah Farraj, both Dr. Jihan Al-Taher Mohammed and Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Gharari, who praised the importance of the research and its scientific objectives in addressing contemporary marriage issues from a jurisprudential perspective.
It is worth noting that this step is part of the university's support for rigorous scientific research that contributes to the development of Islamic jurisprudence and keeps pace with contemporary developments.
