University Supportive Deanships Prepare for Summer Semester with New Activities and Updates
Dr. Marwan Bataineh, Dean of Faculty Affairs at the Islamic University of Minnesota, has reported that the dean's office is currently making necessary preparations for the summer semester. Battaineh mentioned that the dean's office held a series of meetings from March 13 to March 31, 2024, with the aim of discussing the challenges facing faculty members and supporting them in their educational roles.
Bataineh discussed the new appointments at the university, where new faculty members have been appointed in several colleges, including the College of Computing, the College of Islamic Studies, the College of Economics and Business Administration, and the College of Sharia and Law. Their academic ranks have been determined.
Bataineh also highlighted the dean's office directives regarding the supervision and evaluation of scientific theses by deans and department heads, as well as the mechanism for appointing faculty members at the university, which aims to ensure fairness and transparency in the appointment process.
On his part, Dr. Osama Awwad, Dean of Academic Affairs, confirmed the readiness of the Academic Affairs Department for the summer semester. The dean's office has reviewed and approved the schedules for the summer semester, and has prepared an electronic monitoring system for lectures, allowing deans and department heads to monitor them continuously.
Dr. Zainab Besyouni, Dean of Student Affairs, explained that the dean's office has finalized the schedules for undergraduate and graduate programs and distributed the curricula. They have also arranged accommodation for new students in their respective colleges and majors.
Besyouni affirmed that the dean's office has divided the graduate studies stage into two phases and is continuously verifying student data.
It is worth mentioning that the Islamic University of Minnesota is working on developing its infrastructure and increasing investment in educational technology. The laboratories have been updated and equipped with the latest technologies, and high-speed Wi-Fi service has been provided throughout the main center.
