Joint Meeting Held to Discuss Preparations for Final Exams of First Semester
A joint meeting for student affairs and educational affairs was chaired by Mr. Sulaiman Maqbool, Director of Undergraduate Student Affairs at the Deanship of Student Affairs, at Minnesota Islamic University. The meeting was attended by Dr. Osama Abdulrahman, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Jumana Al-Kharashi, Director of Educational Affairs, and Ms. Omaima Adel, Director of Graduate Student Affairs, along with the deans and secretaries of various colleges and departments.
The meeting was dedicated to discussing final preparations for the final exams of the first semester for the academic year 2024-2025.
Mr. Sulaiman opened the meeting with important instructions directed to the deans and department heads, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to these instructions to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination process. He noted that the final exams of the second semester could be the last to be conducted in the current manner, as they will be replaced by an electronic examination system through the academic portal, expected to be implemented starting from the second semester after being tested in the College of Computer Science and Information Technology.
Mr. Sulaiman detailed the examination mechanism, outlining the required steps and allowing for discussion and inquiries regarding each step. He presented the necessary report templates and discussed how to handle various categories of students, such as attending students, submission students, and those with excuses.
He warned non-serious students that their presence in groups without attendance or providing summaries would not qualify them to take the exams, affirming the university's commitment to the principle of integrity by not allowing such students to enter the exams. He also stressed the importance of distinguishing between acceptable and unacceptable excuses, indicating that students who fall into the second category, as well as non-serious students, would face disqualification procedures, and disqualified students would not be allowed to take the supplementary exams.
In conclusion, Dr. Jumana Al-Kharashi commented on Mr. Sulaiman's remarks, highlighting the importance of organizing and publishing instructional materials thoughtfully to avoid distracting students.
Dr. Osama Abdulrahman, Dean of Academic Affairs, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Sulaiman and Dr. Jumana and opened the floor for the secretaries to raise their inquiries, adding a positive note to the meeting.
It is noteworthy that the instructions discussed in the meeting were published as text posts, along with a video recording of the meeting itself, all aimed at regulating the examination process and ensuring its success.
