Training Center Conducts Specialized Course on Effective Listening Skills in Workplace

The Training, Development, and Community Programs Center at the Islamic University of Minnesota (Main Center) conducted a specialized training course titled “Effective Listening Skills in the Workplace.” The course comes within the second administrative training program focused on developing effective communication skills and was delivered over three sessions held from November 20 to 25, 2025, as part of the Center’s efforts to enhance employee efficiency and professional communication skills.

The course was presented by Dr. Ibrahim Taha Al-Ajlouni, Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the Islamic University of Minnesota, through training meetings held on Thursday, November 20; Sunday, November 23; and Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 8:00–10:00 p.m. Makkah time. The sessions addressed a set of applied topics related to the concept of effective listening, its professional techniques, and its vital role in improving the work environment, building professional relationships, and enhancing institutional performance.

The training targeted staff across various departments, customer service and technical support personnel, team leaders and supervisors, as well as anyone seeking to develop their professional communication skills through mindful listening. The course witnessed active participation and notable interaction from trainees via the Zoom platform, reflecting significant interest in such practical training programs.

The Center offered free attendance for all participants and granted university students free certificates of participation, while a symbolic fee was applied for non-university participants wishing to obtain certification—an initiative that reflects the Center’s commitment to expanding community benefit from its training programs.

This course forms part of a series of development initiatives implemented by the Training, Development, and Community Programs Center, reaffirming its role in supporting administrative and professional capacity-building and promoting a culture of positive and effective communication in diverse work environments.
