The college's programs aim to meet the needs of the Arab and international labor market, as numerous studies have shown a shortage of human resources specialized in development and the need for institutions to work on training their employees to cover their real needs for specialists and researchers.

The two departments affiliated with the college qualify graduates theoretically and practically through the curriculum, materials, lectures, seminars, workshops, and field research, to be able to work in the ministries of development, planning, industry, and trade, social development, political development, various media, humanitarian organizations, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, in addition to research centers, studies, and specialized consultations in the topics of development, strategic thinking, knowledge economy, and crisis management in all its aspects.

Studying the program qualifies the graduate to be able to employ what he has studied in the service of society and its development, and to be able to communicate effectively and positively with others, develop his abilities to understand and analyze development topics, concepts, and elements, strengthen his skills in diagnosing community problems and determining priorities and methods of treatment, enabling him to evaluate development plans, review them, and improve their performance, train him to simulate successful global development models, identify strengths and weaknesses in unsuccessful projects, develop a culture of scientific research in the field of development studies, and a culture of spreading awareness of development problems in Arab societies to form a special culture of development concepts in them, and provide scientific programs capable of training students to practice field work in institutions concerned with development topics, and methods of implementation.

In addition to its primary mission, which is scientific research, the college seeks to qualify its students through the academic curriculum to perform additional supporting tasks, the most important of which are training courses in the fields of development, disaster management, and crises in cooperation with national, Arab, and international organizations and institutions, supporting research and studies specialized in development topics in all its aspects, preparing studies and research, and providing consultations in the fields of development.

The college aspires to establish a refereed and classified scientific journal for research related to development studies in all its departments, as it also aspires to establish an electronic consultation center for development projects within the university's main website, specific to the college, to provide services related to managing institutions and crisis management. The college also aspires to innovate new educational units and methods that are compatible with the university's education system (online).
