Memorandum of Understanding Between Islamic University of Minnesota and Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University
Bloomington, Minnesota - September 24, 2024 - The President of the Islamic University of Minnesota, Professor Waleed bin Idris Al-Meneesi, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between his university and Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University in Madinah. The signing took place at the Islamic University of Minnesota's headquarters in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA.
In a post on his personal Facebook page, Professor Al-Maneesi explained that the MoU covers several areas of cooperation between the two universities, including exchange visits between the administrations and faculty members, student exchange programs, teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, as well as organizing joint conferences and other academic collaborations.
Professor Al-Meneesi noted that Prince Muqrin University was represented by Dr. Aisha Al-Ayafi Al-Sharif, Director of International Student Affairs and Acting Director of Public Relations at Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University. Dr. Al-Sharif traveled to Minnesota specifically to attend the signing ceremony.
According to the post, the MOU was signed on Tuesday, Rabi' al-Awwal 21, 1446 AH, corresponding to September 24, 2024. The MOU includes six main clauses, the last of which states the possibility of converting it into a permanent agreement between the two universities, with potential for further development and the addition of more provisions in the future.
