Minnesota, USA - Dr. Jumana Al-Kharashi, Director of the Educational Affairs Unit at the Deanship of Academic Affairs at the Islamic University of Minnesota, announced outstanding results for the second semester, with a total of 4,550 lectures conducted, achieving a success rate of 99.8%.
Al-Kharashi explained that the number of lectures that did not take place was minimal, totaling only 6, while an additional 12 lectures were added at the request of faculty members. The unit also recorded 21 self-learning lectures across five colleges, with only one lecture not conducted.
She praised the new mechanism adopted to monitor the progress of lectures, which includes preparing daily reports and submitting them to department heads and the Deanship of Academic Affairs. She confirmed that this mechanism has contributed to precise monitoring, resulting in a significant reduction in the number of missed lectures.
Regarding compensating for missed lectures, Dr. Al-Kharashi stated that the unit has taken effective measures, including communication with faculty members to set new dates for the missed lectures.
On efforts to reduce the number of "students at risk of exclusion," Dr. Jumana noted the fruitful collaboration with the Student Affairs Units, as attendance records were submitted regularly, leading to a complete absence of excluded students in graduate studies and only 4 students at the undergraduate level.
In terms of monitoring academic assignments, Dr. Al-Kharashi reported that the unit submitted eight reports on the assignments imposed by faculty members and the extent of students' submission of these assignments.
As for the final exams, Dr. Jumana confirmed the unit's readiness to hold coordination meetings with her team and the Student Affairs team to ensure a smooth examination process.
In conclusion, Dr. Al-Kharashi expressed her gratitude to all cooperating entities for achieving these milestones, commending the role of faculty members and department heads in this success.
