Director of World Assembly of Muslim Youth in Senegal Affirms Openness to Cooperation with Islamic University of Minnesota

The Director of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) in Senegal, Mr. Fathi Eid, affirmed the organization’s full openness to collaboration and partnership with the Islamic University of Minnesota, both within Senegal and beyond, praising the university’s pioneering role in serving youth and students across the Islamic world.

Mr. Eid explained that representatives from WAMY have participated in several academic and outreach activities organized by the university in various countries, describing the university as a distinguished model of institutional work dedicated to promoting education and youth development. He expressed WAMY’s deep appreciation for the university’s valuable efforts in these fields.

His remarks came during the visit of Prof. Waleed bin Idris Al-Maneese, President of the Islamic University of Minnesota, accompanied by Prof. Mohammed Al-Mukhtar Gaye, Head of the university’s Senegal branch, to WAMY’s office in Dakar on September 16, 2025.

Mr. Eid expressed his great pleasure at the visit, extending his gratitude to Prof. Al-Maneese and Prof. Gaye for their significant contributions to serving Muslim youth, particularly in the field of education. He concluded by expressing his hope that this meeting would pave the way for fruitful cooperation and constructive partnership between WAMY and the university in advancing the shared mission of education and Islamic outreach across Africa and the Muslim world.
