College of Islamic Studies Publishes Third Issue of Journal of Islamic Studies

The College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center - has announced the publication of the third issue of the Journal of Islamic Studies, an international peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing original and specialized research in various fields of Islamic studies. The journal is issued quarterly with the aim of supporting scientific research and enriching the academic library with rigorous scholarly studies.

The publication of this issue comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote scholarly production and encourage researchers to publish their work through a reliable academic platform that follows recognized academic standards in research publication and peer review. The journal receives research papers in both Arabic and English from scholars around the world.

The journal is edited by Dr. Abdulrazeq Al-Bakri, Associate Professor in the Department of Qur’an and Its Sciences and Dean of the College of Islamic Studies. The editorial board oversees the rigorous peer-review process for submitted manuscripts in accordance with approved academic standards before they are accepted for publication.

The third issue includes a number of specialized academic studies in the fields of Islamic thought and Islamic sciences. Among the most notable contributions is a study titled “Orientalism: Its Origins, Motives, Objectives, Writings, and Impacts” by Dr. Yusuf Mohammed Hameed Ahmed Al-Yafrusi, Associate Professor and faculty member in the Department of Qur’an and Its Sciences at the College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota – Main Center.

The study examines the phenomenon of Orientalism in terms of its historical emergence, the motivations behind the interest of Orientalists in Islamic studies, and the most prominent Orientalist writings and their impact on Islamic scholarship. It also provides a scholarly analysis of Orientalist perspectives on Islamic heritage.

The journal follows a rigorous peer-review system to ensure the quality of published research. Submitted papers undergo several stages, including an initial screening, verification of academic originality and plagiarism rate, and evaluation by specialized reviewers in the field before the final decision on publication is made.

In addition, the journal adheres to established academic publishing standards, including proper citation and referencing, and the use of sound research methodology. Research papers follow a structured format that includes the introduction, research problem, methodology, results and recommendations, and references.

The Journal of Islamic Studies aims to contribute to the advancement of scholarly research in Islamic sciences and to publish studies addressing contemporary Islamic issues. It also seeks to correct misconceptions about Islam and promote sound academic methodology in Islamic studies.
