Islamic University of Minnesota Announces Academic Calendar
The Media Center at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center has announced the release of the academic calendar for the 2026–2027 academic year (1448 AH). The calendar outlines a comprehensive timeline covering study periods, registration, and examinations across the three academic terms, reflecting the university’s commitment to strengthening academic discipline and organizing the educational process in line with a precise institutional vision.
According to the calendar, the first semester begins with the return of faculty members and the start of academic activities on June 6, 2026. This is followed by the publication of class schedules, course registration, and orientation events for new students. Classes officially commence on June 20, while July 17 is set as the final deadline for registration. Midterm exams are scheduled for early August, lectures conclude on September 17, and final examinations will run from September 26 to October 7, followed by the inter-semester break.
The second semester is set to begin on October 24, 2026, after the completion of academic procedures related to registration, and will continue until the end of January 2027. Key milestones include a final registration deadline in November, midterm exams in December, the conclusion of lectures on January 21, and final exams from January 25 to February 6, followed by the semester break.
As for the summer term, it will commence on March 20, 2027, with April 2 designated as the final registration deadline. Lectures will end on April 29, and final exams will take place from May 3 to May 10, followed by the start of the summer break on May 11, 2027.
The calendar also specifies admission and registration periods for new students. Registration for the first semester opened in April 2026 and continued until mid-July, while separate, phased registration periods have been allocated for the second and summer terms, taking into account the specific nature of each academic stage.
