Youssef Al Hashmi: We Monitor Everything Related to the Educational and Academic Process
Dr. Youssef Al Hashmi, the Dean of Academic Affairs, emphasized that the deanery closely monitors everything related to the educational and academic process. This includes addressing challenges and shortages that may arise in some departments due to the absence of certain professors or their apologies for teaching certain courses due to circumstances beyond their control. He pointed out that these issues are addressed with the effective collaboration and success of department heads.
Dr. Hashmi stated, "The deanery consistently addresses some student-related issues that are brought to the attention of the Dean of Academic Affairs by the Student Affairs units." He mentioned various tasks accomplished by the deanery, such as monitoring the status of students referred to the self-study track, handling issues arising from compensatory and remaining lectures in some academic departments, overseeing the midterm and final exams conducted by the control unit under the deanery, and monitoring grades, assignments, and attendance for students.
Additionally, Dr. Hashmi highlighted that the deanery discusses important development files with the Quality and Development Administration, attends regular meetings that bring together administrative units with the senior administration represented by Dr. Omar Ahmed Al Maqrami, the Vice President of the University. These meetings address key academic issues, challenges faced by the academic process, and proposals for overcoming obstacles. Dr. Hashmi mentioned that the deanery issues experience certificates for faculty members after they meet the required standards based on periodic evaluations conducted by the deanery and department heads.
Dr. Youssef concluded his statement by expressing gratitude to the staff of the Dean of Academic Affairs and Educational Affairs at the university, acknowledging their significant efforts in ensuring the success of the academic work. He also thanked other administrative units, including the Student Affairs units, department secretaries, the Curriculum and Control units, and the Media Center. According to him, success was achieved through the unity of purpose, collective efforts, and collaboration in achieving the desired goal by everyone involved.
