Accreditation, Licensing, and Academic Recognition:

The Islamic University of Minnesota is a non-profit educational institution officially registered with the Government of the State of Minnesota, USA, under the number (EIN 80-0938606), and is tax-exempt under the federal system (501C3). The university has obtained a license from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, granting it the authority to offer Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral programs across multiple disciplines.

Academic Quality and International Accreditation:

The university is committed to periodically developing its programs and curricula to meet quality standards and international accreditation requirements. It offers academic programs that comply with the regulations of Ministries of Higher Education regarding curriculum design, teaching methods, and assessment mechanisms. Its degrees are awarded based on a credit-hour system compatible with international transfer standards and are certified by the state secretary, the U.S. Department of State, and several embassies, ensuring wide recognition and international academic acceptance.

In line with its global vision, the university is steadily expanding the international accreditation of its programs through academic agreements with a number of universities and educational institutions worldwide. The university has also extended its academic activities to include branches and representative offices in several countries, some of which have received official accreditation from the host countries’ Ministries of Higher Education.

Recognition by the Federal Ministry of Higher Education in the Federal Republic of Somalia under license number (WWWHTS/XAG/161/2016), issued on September 8, 2016, through its Mogadishu branch, which covers the following regions: Somalia, Kenya, Djibouti, Uganda, Eritrea, and Sudan.
